Cloak of the Wraithguard
This is confidential information, and should be accessed only by the DM and Rylaun.
Vhaeraun has bestowed upon Rylaun a cloak of infinite and supple darkness. It is a Cloak of the Wraithguard. It is a major artifact, and is now irreparably bonded with Rylaun. Only divine intervention can remove the item; it cannot be disjoined as long as Rylaun lives.
The cloak provides the following benefits:
- A +8 shield bonus, applying fully against all attacks and spells requiring attack rolls, even against touch attacks and while Rylaun is flat-footed. The cloak has a mind of its own, and its will cannot be thwarted.
- An additional offhand attack, inflicting 1d8+Str slashing damage. It can trip, disarm, or grapple; it never provokes attacks for doing so, never provokes counter-disarm or counter-trip attempts, and gains a +4 to all applicable checks. While it grapples, Rylaun cannot move more than 5 ft away from the grappled opponent, but is otherwise not considered grappled.
- The ability to become incorporeal. The cloak's shield bonus still applies to corporeal attacks, as a ghost touch shield's would. It is a swift action to enter or exit incorporeal form. In this form, Rylaun gains a fly speed of 30 ft (perfect), and all the normal benefits of incorporealness, along with its normal drawbacks.
- Rylaun is protected from any attempt to read thoughts, detect alignment, or see through glamers by divine intervention.
The cloak has other powers as well, of which Rylaun is not aware.
